The Board of Directors of the Downtown Neighorhood Association met at 7 p.m. Thursday, February 10, at the Florencia on Beach Drive.
The meeting was called to order at 7:05 p.m. by Marilyn Olsen, president.
Present were: Ms. Olsen; board members John Belovitz, Gary Grooms, Peter Belmont, Tim Clemmons, Marlys Meckler, Bill Stokes, Bill Walsh and Nancy Watson.
Minutes: A motion to approve the minutes of the previous meeting was made by Mr. Belovitz, seconded by Ms. Meckler and approved unanimously.
Budget: A budget for 2011 was approved unanimously after a motion by Mr. Clemmons and a second by Mr. Belovitz. The budget was proposed by outgoing treasurer Allan Brockway, and is available on the DNA web site (http: www.stpetedna.org).
Election of Officers: Marilyn Olsen was elected to a new term as president, on motion by Mr. Clemmons and a second by Ms. Meckler. Timothy Baker was elected to a new term as secretary, on motion by Mr. Grooms and a second by Ms. Meckler. Ms. Watson was elected treasurer on motion by Ms, Meckler and a second by Mr. Belovitz. All votes were unanimous.
Committees: There was a general discussion of committee work. Current and potential committees consist of Membership, Web Site, Newsletter, Planning, Urban Porch Party, Mirror Lake, Council of Neighborhood Associations (CONA), Cultural Arts, Preservation, Beautification and Membership. Ms. Olsen is seeking volunteers and will announce committee chairs in the upcoming months.
