The Downtown Neighborhood Association (DNA) Board of Directors met on Wednesday, June 11, 2008, at the Florencia, 100 Beach Drive, St. Petersburg. President Marilyn Olsen called the meeting to order at 7:15 pm.

Minutes from May 8, 2008, were approved as emailed by Sydni Ann Shollenberger. The treasurer’s report had been posted on the DNA website by Allan Brockway. Tim Baker added that there might be additional revenue from advertising.

John Harte and Marilyn Olsen reported on a meeting held with City Council member Leslie Curran regarding Williams Park and the Adopt a Park program. She has offered her assistance in providing contact information for area stakeholders who may wish to partner with DNA. Tim Clemmons offered to act as facilitator.

MOTION: Peter Belmont moved, Tim Clemmons seconded that the DNA board adopt Williams Park. The motion passed unanimously.

There was a discussion of the proposed changes to the St. Petersburg Land Development Regulations. Peter Belmont will prepare a proposal to change 16.20.12.6.2 (FAR bonus for LEED award levels of Silver, Gold, or Platinum in DC) from TDR, L to an intensity bonus.

Peter Belmont and Marilyn Olsen reported on the 5/13/08 Planning and Visioning Commission Workshop on temporary parking lots. In line with the resolution passed by the board, we have requested the elimination of temporary parking lots in the area zoned as Downtown Core. This information will be included in a memorandum being prepared by Julie Weston seeking policy direction from the City Council.

Tim Baker, Peter Belmont and Marilyn Olsen reported on a meeting with Joe Kubicki on 6/2/08 regarding upgrades to the Waterfront Walk with the extension of Pinellas Trail from Demens Landing north along Bayshore. Tim Clemmons offered to prepare an alternative proposal.

Meeting was adjourned at 9:40 pm.
