DNA Annual Meeting January 9, 2014 Sunshine Center MINUTES
Meeting was called to order at 7:04pm.
Mnutes of the previous annual meeting were approved.
The Treasurer’s Report was tabled and approved.
President Gary Grooms thanked the retiring Board members – Marlys Meckler, Marilyn Olsen, David Hirschman, and Lottie Leibovitz – for their service and contributions to DNA.
Non-incumbent candidates for the Board were introduced and gave a brief statement: John Mason, Albert Scarfati, Sydni Shollenberger; Dan Saginario was travelling – his introduction was given by Paul Carder.
There were no floor nominees. The following slate of Directors for 2014 was approved:
Brian Bailey, Paul Carder, Gary Grooms, Dan Harvey, John Mason, Joe Pugliano, Barbara Riddle-Dvorak, Terry Rimer, Dan Saginario, George Saltsman, Albert Scarfati, and Sydni Shollenberger.
President Gary Grooms detailed the major issues for consideration by DNA and asked for volunteers to help staff the various committees dealing with those issues: Membership, Quality of Life, Waterfront, Pier, Greenlight Pinellas, Political Liaison, Tour of Homes, and Porch Parties.
Albert Alfonso of Alfonso Architects was introduced and gave a presentation on the planned American Arts and Crafts Movement Museum. He and a representative of the owner answered questions from the audience. For further information people were directed to the website www.tworedroses.com .
