The Downtown Neighborhood Association held its membership meeting at 7 p.m. on Thursday, October 11, at the Sunshine Center.
By a unanimous vote, the most recent minutes and treasurer’s reports were approved as posted on the association web site, www.stpetedna.org.
Elections Committee Chair Gary Grooms reported that there are 6 to 7 candidates for the 2013 DNA board in addition to current board members planning to run to fill the 4 vacancies.
Guest Speakers: Lisa Wannemacher, AIA, President, Wannemacher Jensen Architects Inc.; Chris Ballestra, Managing Director, City Development Administration; Raul Quintana, St Petersburg City Architect; Mike Wessel, Marine Scientist and Vice President, Janicki Environmental, Inc. presented the plans for the new St Petersburg Pier which have been enhanced to reflect input from the community followed by questions and answers from the audience.
President’s Report – President Marilyn Olsen announced that the association’s next Urban Porch Party would be on Wednesday, November 14, at St Petersburg Museum of History with Guest Speaker Dennis Schrader, Collector, who will highlight the new “Schrader’s Little Cooperstown” exhibit, the world’s largest collection of autographed baseballs.
